    Steven Bauer, M.D., has long been a respected name in family medicine in Charlotte, North Carolina, with an independent primary care career approaching its twentieth anniversary. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, his clinic, Ballantyne Medical Associates, was among the region's pioneers in treating patients with REGEN-COV monoclonal antibodies.

     

    His contributions continued as he completed two crucial FDA clinical trials concerning COVID-19 therapies. He has also been at the forefront of numerous significant FDA studies, enhancing treatment methodologies across various medical fields.

    Bauer began his medical career after studying pre-med at North Carolina State University and earning his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology. His medical training was further enhanced by a residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in New York, where he served as Chief Resident.

    He has also previously earned a Federal Xnumber with a DW-100 waiver from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration in the use of buprenorphine/naloxone to detox, treat, and monitor patients affected by the ongoing national prescription and illicit opioid epidemic.

    Originally from Sleepy Hollow, New York, he spent much of his early career in his home state, deeply involved with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services as an HIV specialist. His move to North Carolina continued his commitment to significantly impacting public health.

     

    Steven Bauer, M.D., lives in Mecklenburg County with his wife, Barbara, a professional nurse, and their family. Together, they enjoy exploring the natural beauty of mountains and oceans and the culinary delights of their travels.
